ANZAC tours
The events of 1915 in the Gallipoli region mark one of the most remarkable and tragic passages of history during the First World War. Our ANZAC tours help retrace the events by visiting ANZAC Cove, Lone pine, the Nek and Chunuk Bair. Your guide will explain the key phases of the campaign and provide you with time to explore the region including the remarkable tunnels and trenches of the ANZACS, that remain intact, and were situated only 8 metres from the Turkish troops. Today Gallipoli has become a symbol of peace and friendship and each tour also visits the memorials and cemeteries so that we may remember and pay our respects to the soldiers who lost their lives. Our ANZAC tours also take in the other historic sites situated nearby including Ephesus, Pergamon and Troy. Why not extend your stay and explore Istanbul?
M.Kemal Ataturk, 1934
(The founder of the Turkish Republic.)
Those heroes that shed their blood
and lost their lives...
You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country.
Therfore rest in peace.
There is no difference between the Johnnies
and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side,
here in this country of ours.
You, the mothers,
who sent their sons from far away countries...
Wipe away your tears.
Your sons are now lying in our bosom
and are in peace.
After having lost their lives on this land,
they have become our sons as well.
